2024 GROWTH ACCELERATION SUMMER ANALYST  

General Atlantic’s Growth Acceleration team is one of the firm’s key Value Creation pillars, together with the Capital Markets and Portfolio Human Capital teams. As GA’s “in-house management consulting group”, the Growth Acceleration team focuses on market diligence, digital marketing, and pricing initiatives, and is the gateway to the firm’s GA Network, research, and data science capabilities. The team is global in nature, with representation across GA’s New York, London, and Singapore offices. It supports investment teams across all of GA’s sector and geographic coverage areas, and across the investment lifecycle (pre-investment due diligence as well as post-investment portfolio value creation) with an emphasis on driving top-line growth.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

GA’s Summer Program is the primary source of talent for the firm’s Fulltime Analyst program. The Growth Acceleration Summer Analyst will work with Associates and Senior Associates on the team across a variety of diligence-focused functions, with exposure to the team’s value creation practices (digital marketing, pricing, and data science) in the course of their work. The Summer Analyst will have the opportunity to collaborate with investment teams in due diligence of investment prospects at various stages of the growth cycle, as well as contribute to key portfolio value creation initiatives tied to top-line revenue growth.

WHAT TO EXPECT

The Growth Acceleration Summer Analyst program will be based in GA’s New York office and will span 10 weeks, beginning in June 2024. As a Summer Analyst, you can expect to:

  • Learn and apply key concepts from the “consulting toolkit” (e.g., marketing sizing, competitive positioning, voice of customer, as well as core pricing & digital marketing techniques) taught at top-tier consulting firms

  • Gain exposure to live situations across diligence and portfolio environments (e.g., presenting findings internally & externally to a range of senior stakeholders)

  • Scope, develop and present (with the guidance of Associates & Senior Associates) a “keystone project” focused on a high-priority thematic topic at the end of the summer program (e.g., recent developments in the growth equity landscape and implications for GA) to senior members of the Growth Acceleration team

  • Significant exposure to broader growth investing concepts through a Lunch & Learn series with a range of GA senior professionals and a rigorous introductory training program

  • Regular and formal mentorship with members of the Growth Acceleration team, including 1:1 Check-ins with senior Growth Acceleration team members at key stages of the summer program

STUDENT GRADUATING IN DECEMBER 2024 OR SPRING 2025 ARE INVITED TO APPLY IF YOU:

  • Are currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate institution in the US;

  • Have a proven track record of achievement in academic, leadership, and other settings;

  • Have a global mindset and an interest in collaborating with colleagues across GA offices;

  • Have strong attention to detail, given engagement with key internal and external stakeholders;

  • Are energized about contributing in a fast-paced and often changing environment;

  • Are highly proficient in PowerPoint and Excel (Python & programming a plus, but not required);

  • Are fundamentally an intellectually curious, resourceful, and team-driven person;

  • Note: Prior internship experience at a top-tier management consulting firm, venture/growth fund, and/or investment bank is preferred, but not required

Upon successful completion of your internship, you will receive first consideration for a role in GA’s 2025 Fulltime Analyst Program. General Atlantic allows you to earn a weekly rate of $2,115 USD.
