For our group's inaugural event, we are having a Congressional Summit with Representative Jackie Speier on November 9 in the BCSC from 7-8:30 PM. Rep. Speier is a long time outspoken advocate for the protection of sexual assault survivors, authoring bipartisan legislation to protect survivors called the HALT (Hold Accountable and Lend Transparency) Campus Sexual Violence Act. There will be a student panel where students will be discussing their personal experiences with this issue on campus. This will then be followed with a Q&A to give students a space to speak with their Congresswoman on campus sexual assault.
