STVP Student Entrepreneurship Associates

The Stanford Technology Ventures Program is looking to hire Student Entrepreneurship Associates to work 10-15 hours/week at the STVP office in the Huang Engineering Center. The position is paid and provides an opportunity to directly shape Stanford’s entrepreneurship curriculum and programs, while working in immersive, lab-like setting!

Here are the roles, responsibilities and requirements for the position:

 

The Entrepreneurship Associate Role:                                      

The STVP Entrepreneurship (E-ship) Associate is the primary liaison between STVP and Stanford students. Day-to-day, the E-Ship Associate’s job involves three primary functions: 1) working closely with STVP staff to manage current programs and build out new opportunities; 2) welcoming students, visitors and faculty into our office and familiarizing them with our various programs and courses; and 3) offering the “student perspective” during team meetings and events to ensure that STVP serves its constituents as effectively as possible. All associates are encouraged to pursue additional projects with individual STVP staff as well.

 

Sample Responsibilities/Projects                           

  1. Working with the eCorner team within STVP to overhaul the site design and conduct UX testing for the new eCorner website           

  2. Managing the publicity and hosting of quarterly Sparks — one-session pop-up classes on a particular industry-centric skill or idea                  

  3. Assisting STVP staff with the recruitment and selection of candidates for various fellowships (e.g. Mayfield Fellows Program, Accel Innovation Scholars, etc.)

  4. Delivering an inviting experience in our welcome space for students, faculty and visitors.

  5. Collaborating on planning for major conference-style events intended to cater to all students, faculty and guests of Stanford University (e.g. STVP Future Fest)

Minimum Requirements

 

  • Currently enrolled student at Stanford University (preferably a sophomore or junior undergraduate student)

  • Able to commit 10-15 hours a week (ideally for several consecutive quarters) in-person at the STVP office

  • Effective communicator, able to work with a variety of people with diverse skills, interests and backgrounds

  • Familiarity with some of STVP’s programs and initiatives is preferred. A genuine interest in entrepreneurship and innovation is a must.
