Hedge Fund Research Intern 

Aetos Alternatives Management LLC (“Aetos”) is seeking a Hedge Fund Research Intern to join our investment team in Menlo Park, CA. The Intern will work closely with team members to assist with evaluating and monitoring the firm’s investments in hedge funds, learn about investment strategies and the alternative investment space, and conduct research on financial topics of interest to Aetos and our clients. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside our team to gain industry knowledge and exposure to alternative investments, while also making meaningful contributions to our firm. 

We are looking for a 10‐20 hour per week commitment spanning the winter and spring quarters, and we will work with the Intern’s class schedule to find a suitable work schedule; understanding that school is your first priority, we will provide flexibility with the work schedule depending on demands at school. 

Job Responsibilities 

 Work with members of the investment team to evaluate and monitor hedge fund managers by conducting online research, helping to maintain our proprietary databases, and running financial analyses in Excel 

 Conduct at least one research project on economic and financial markets; develop presentation materials and present findings to the investment team 

 Shadow investment professionals to gain a deeper understanding of our investment philosophy  Participate in meetings 

 Design proprietary investment tools to analyze and monitor investments 

Desired Skills and Experience 

 Undergraduate student in junior year with a GPA of 3.5 or above 

 History of high academic achievement and demonstrated leadership 

 Strong quantitative skills 

 Strong interest in financial markets and a desire to understand investment strategies 

 Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

 Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment 

 Familiarity with databases and programming languages is a plus, but not required
