Emerald Cloud Lab (ECL) Information Session

Emerald Cloud Lab is a fully virtualized life sciences laboratory that allows researchers to remotely run experiments in a central lab over the Internet. Taking inspiration from other virtualization efforts in semiconductors and information technology, the ECL utilizes automation to gain closure around experiments and ensure that all variables, controls, and data are captured in a fluid and complete manner.

The first part of the session will focus on the origin of the technology and the growth of the company. The second half will deal more generally with the opportunities and challenges of working at a life sciences start-up pushing the boundaries of new technology, focusing on the personal experiences of the team members who have been part of this effort.
