Brandes Investment Partners Research Associate

Brandes Investment Partners, L.P. (“Brandes”) will be conducting undergraduate phone interviews during

September and October 2019 for Research Associate positions in our Research department.

Ten Reasons We Believe the Research Associate (RA) Position at Brandes is a Great Career Choice

1) RAs work on the buy side of an institution that manages approximately USD $25.4 billion as of June

30, 2019, and has a performance track record over 40 years long.

2) The RA position emphasizes critical thinking instead of deal execution or project management.

3) RA work contributes to actual portfolio decisions; it is not just advice that may or may not be used.

4) RAs have the chance to interact with management (CEOs and CFOs) of companies they are

researching.

5) RAs build industry knowledge by focusing on specific sectors.

6) RAs gain global exposure researching our U.S. and international holdings.

7) Buy-side experience at Brandes can help RAs stand out when they apply to business school.

8) Brandes provides an intensive financial training program for new RAs.

9) Brandes stresses a healthy work-life balance.

10) RAs have the chance to live in beautiful San Diego.

What Exactly Do RAs at Brandes Do?

RAs play a key role in our firm’s investment process by supporting analysts and senior analysts in equity

research. The day-to-day responsibilities of RAs include financial modeling, valuation, data collection,

industry analysis, and idea generation. As they progress through the program, RAs who demonstrate an

ability to deliver high quality work receive increasing amounts of responsibility in the research process.

Unlike many other post-undergraduate opportunities, the Brandes Research Associate position is a 4-year

program. We believe that this represents a compelling opportunity for those candidates with a serious

interest in the financial industry.
