About Katie Mitic:

Katie is a seasoned executive, entrepreneur and board member with a proven track record leading strategy and execution in the consumer technology industry. Over more than two decades, Katie has been at the center of Silicon Valley product and business innovation in the world’s leading technology companies.

Currently, Katie is Co-CEO and Co-Founder of SomethingElse, ​a company creating adult beverages for wellness-oriented consumers who want to skip the alcohol without skipping the experience​. The company’s introductory product lines will launch in 2020. Prior to SomethingElse, Katie was CEO and Co-Founder of Sitch, building mobile products at the intersection of local, video and social.

In 2010, Katie joined Facebook as Head of Platform and Mobile Marketing, where she was responsible for growing innovative products for hundreds of millions of developers and consumers globally. Prior to Facebook, Katie was SVP of Product Marketing at Palm, expanding the company’s product lines and international footprint through its acquisition by Hewlett-Packard.

Previously, over two tours totalling almost a decade, she served as VP & GM at Yahoo!, building and managing a portfolio of community and communication products. ​Katie first landed at Yahoo! in 1997 with the acquisition of Four11, where she led the team that created RocketMail, the email product which became Yahoo! Mail.

As CEO and Co-founder of Desktop.com, Katie pioneered web development platforms for consumer applications. ​She began her Internet career in 1994 at NetDynamics (acquired by Sun Microsystems) where she launched the technology industry’s first application server.

Katie began her professional career in the mergers and acquisitions group at Credit Suisse First Boston in New York and London.

Katie has more than a decade of experience as a board director working with both Fortune 500 and private companies. She currently serves on the boards of eBay (since 2011, NASDAQ: EBAY), Restoration Hardware (since 2013, NYSE: RH), Headspace (since 2017) and the Sheryl Sandberg Dave Goldberg Foundation (since 2019).

Katie enjoys open water swimming, belly-aching laughter, and geeky biochem subjects like food science, epigenetics, personalized nutrition, and the gut biome. She spent 2018 on a travelling family sabbatical with her husband and two sons. She h​olds a BA from Stanford University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
