Lead Edge Capital (https://leadedgecapital.com/) is looking to hire full-time Associates (graduating summer 2021 and earlier) as well as Summer Interns (ideally juniors) in our New York City or Santa Barbara office for a 2021 start. We are a growth equity firm, founded in 2009 with $3B of assets under management that invests in software and internet businesses globally. The Limited Partners (investors) of Lead Edge are current and former Fortune 500 senior-level executives or board members, successful entrepreneurs, and strategic advisors to large companies. Lead Edge leverages this network of LPs to help its portfolio companies succeed. Our portfolio includes Asana, Spotify, Marketo, Mindbody, Delivery Hero, Refinery29, Xamarin, BlaBlaCar and Alibaba Group.
Associates will initially be largely focused on originating and soliciting investment opportunities for the firm. Identifying and sourcing is a critical part of the role, and requires tenacity, creativity and a self-starter approach. The firm takes an all-hands approach to sourcing by leveraging the firm’s vast network to connect with entrepreneurs.
As Associates identify interesting prospects, they will be responsible for analyzing the company’s business model, conducting financial/operating due diligence, cohort/retention analysis and presenting their findings to the investment team. Companies that elevate through the firm’s pipeline will require further due diligence. In addition to customer calls and market research, Associates will be involved with building valuation and return models, drafting of term sheets and investment memos, and ultimately overall deal execution, alongside one of the Vice Presidents or Principals at the firm.
Post-close, Associates will have the opportunity to work closely with their portfolio companies. In the past Associates have taken board seats, led management hiring, developed pricing strategies, and built KPI dashboards, among other key initiatives.
