INVESTING.

The primary responsibility of the investing intern involves assessing potential investment opportunities for Alpine’s fund. This entails proactively analyzing industries and individual companies, identifying key trends and risks, and highlighting attractive areas for investment. As deal processes “go live,” the investing intern will play a critical role on the deal team in assisting with various components of the deal process, including on-site company visits and diligence meetings with business executives. 

The investing internship is most appropriate for those who wish to learn about the deal process, from initial evaluation and negotiation, through due diligence, to completing the transaction. Individuals in this role most likely see themselves as future investing partners.

SOURCING.

 Sourcing is a critical function within Private Equity and spearheads all other activities within the firm. The more deals the Sourcing team surfaces, the more optionality Alpine has to choose from the best ideas and make informed investment decisions. Alpine has built out a world-class sourcing function, which has allowed it to increase the volume of closed deals by 8x since 2015.

The sourcing internship is most appropriate for someone who enjoys building relationships and wants to make a substantive impact from as a young professional. Candidates should be excited about a role where they are on the phone or conducting in-person meetings. Interns will source opportunities through multiple channels including investment banks, business brokers and direct outreach to founders and CEOs at target companies.
