Finance Primer Workshop Series
Finance Primer Session 5
Thursday, November 3rd
8:00 - 9:00pm

This session will cover LBO models. This is a common transaction in the private equity space, and involves the acquiring entity putting a large amount of debt on the business, and then paying down this debt over time, with an exit (IPO or sale) of the levered business typically over a 3-7 year horizon. In this session, we will walk through the high level mechanics of this type of transaction, and will discuss the key modeling considerations when analyzing a leveraged buyout.
Presenters: Luke Pappas (15'), Emily Tian (14'), Paige Gonye (14'), Julia Schottenstein (14') and Bryant Seaman (15')
Space is limited.
About this series
This fall, a group of former Stanford students led by Luke Pappas (15'), Emily Tian (14'), Paige Gonye (14'), Julia Schottenstein (14') and Bryant Seaman (15') will conduct a six-week workshop designed to provide students with an introduction to the role of a financial analyst. The workshop will preview several of the core transactions that financial analysts work on and will detail the analytical models and valuation methodologies financial analysts often use on the job. The workshop will also provide students with resume and interview training.
