Bessemer Venture Partners Spring Research/Content Intern (1/23)

We are recruiting an intern for the 2017 spring semester to drive research into new investment strategies and content creation. You will be tasked with studying new investment areas in enterprise software, driving internal investment research, and creating content for external thought leadership. As an example, our 10 Laws of Cloud Computing is one of the most widely read software white papers (https://bvp.box.com/10lawsofcloudcomputing) and we would like to develop more content in this vein. The role will be a semester-long commitment based in our San Francisco office. You will be expected to work one day per week in San Francisco and remotely when convenient.

About the role

This is an unpaid internship focused on helping us research new investment areas, develop internal content, and create external content for public consumption. We're looking for candidates in their Junior and Senior years. The ideal candidate will be:

  • An excellent writer/communicator: We’re looking for someone with exceptional writing ability and (ideally) experience in marketing and content creation.
  • An expert in enterprise software: On day one, we’ll ask you to hit the ground running. You must have a solid foundational understanding of the mechanics that matter in software businesses. You should have a genuine interest in the space beyond any prior experience.
  • A good person: We like working with others who are humble, curious and driven.

A refresher on Bessemer

We’re a $1.6 billion fund built on the experience of over 100 years of investing in early stage companies. We’re a big venture fund (12 partners, 40+ investors, 6 offices, 3 continents) with a small company culture. We invest at nearly every stage, in every vertical, just about anywhere in the world. We’re honored to have worked with some incredible portfolio companies like LinkedIn, Yelp, Pinterest, Skype, Blue Apron, Twilio, Shopify and Twilio. Past Bessemer interns and employees have gone on to found their own successful businesses, join future public companies at the ‘ground floor’ and work at top VC firms.

If you are excited about this opportunity because you’re an excellent writer and have an authentic interest in software, we’d love to hear from you. Please send your resume and a technology-related blog post or writing sample to <saasintern@bvp.com> before January 23rd, 2017.
