CS 19SI: Evaluating Education Technologies

Is venture capital a sustainable funding model for education? How can we apply a critical pedagogy lens to popular edtech tools? How do we ensure that edtech is accessible for all?

Sign up for a 1-2 unit Spring course CS 19SI: Evaluating Education Technologies. Through case studies, guest speakers, and hands-on experiences, students will research and evaluate popular education technologies (e.g. VR, personalized learning, makerspaces, and MOOCs). Students will also develop a toolkit of pedagogical concepts including behaviorism, constructivism, and critical pedagogy with which they can use to assess education technologies and their personal contributions to the field.
