Stanford Alumni in Sustainability Speaker Event
Stanford Alumni in Sustainability (SAS) is a new alumni group dedicated to connecting Stanford alumni who work in sustainability and students who are passionate about making a difference in the space. Over the coming months, we will host virtual events, speaker series, and mentorship opportunities to get to know alumni who have forged careers in sustainability. Our belief is that by connecting individuals who have similar ambitions in the environmental space, we can drive collaborative solutions to combating climate change.
Approaches to Creating a Circular Economy
Join us for a discussion on the Circular Economy as three Stanford alumni share steps they are taking to integrate circular economy approaches in their respective industries. The circular economy presents a framework and approach that aims to rethink the traditional linear “take-make-dispose” model of production towards a model encouraging closing material and resource loops (Ellen MacArthur Foundation). We’ll cover how we can shift our thinking from linear to circular business models and how circularity can help to achieve sustainability goals.

Andy Marshall, Founder of Nine Lives Fluorochemicals LLC
Irys Kornbluth, Cofounder and COO of Everywhere
Caroline Yuandi Ling, McKinsey ESG Insights Solutions
Moderated by Karim Tabaja, GSB and Master's Student in Environment and Resources
