About The Falling Walls Lab

The Falling Walls Lab is an international forum, which aims at building and promoting interdisciplinary connections between young excellent academics, entrepreneurs, and professionals from all fields. All participants get a three-minute opportunity to present their research work, business model, or initiative with peers and a distinguished jury consisting of experts from academia, research institutions, and business.

The 2015 Falling Walls Lab Bay Area was held at UC Berkeley with great participation from students from various universities. Topics ranged from “Unrealistic Innovation” to “Detection of Impaired Infants” to “Computational Modeling of Genomic Functions.” The event was judged by a distinguished panel which included Andy Bechtolsheim, co-founder of Sun Microsystems and one of the early investors in Google, Stefan Schlueter, German Consul General for San Francisco, and Vishwa Chandra, head of retail accounts at Instacart, among others.

The winner of the 2016 Falling Walls Bay Area Lab will participate in the Falling Walls Lab Finale held in Berlin onNovember 8, 2016.
